of GN YZ series Submersible Slurry Pump;

In drilling field
the Submersible Slurry Pump is mostly used for feeding the Decanter Centrifuge
and feeding the mud to Shale Shaker from mud pit, sometimes it is also used for
feeding the Desander & Desilter.

2. The Features and
Advantages of GN YZ series Submersible Slurry Pump

1). The
cantilevered structure design, single-stage and single-suction pump;

2). Semi-open
impeller, there is the agitating vane designed located in the pump inlet with
the impeller;

3). Enough
stiffness with the pump shaft, there is no bearings and shaft seals between the
pump body and pump shaft that under the supporting seat, which ensure the pump
is available for transferring the fluid with high concentration solid particles
and there is no need to worry the bearings and shaft seals are damaged by the
solid particles in the drilling fluids. And the pump is maintenance-free and
high temperature resistant;

4). The standard
submersible length of the pump is 1.3 meters, customized length is also available;

5). The pump body
is made of wear resistant alloy and ensure the pump has a longer servicing

6). Motor-driven,
a vertical motor is installed on its supporting seat and connected with the
pump by coupling;

7). There are
different Explosion Standards with the motors & electrical control panel,
such as EXdⅡBt4, IECEX, ATEX

•  Easily adjustable fluid outlet on the drum;

Sometimes
in order to change the drying degree of solids or clarity of liquid, the size
of fluid outlet on the drum needs to be changed by customer.

With
GN’s centrifuge, there are 6 fluid outlets at the big end of the drum and there
is a cover plate mounted on each outlet by bolts. It just needs to loosen the
bolts and angle the cover plate and the outlet size could be changed easily.

•  Feeding fluid from the big end of centrifuge; 

With
all GN’s centrifuges, the drilling fluid goes into the centrifuge from its big
end. Compared with feeding fluid from the small end of centrifuge, on some
extent it will improve the working efficiency by feeding fluid from the big end
of centrifuge.

• Full Range of Centrifuge

1. From minimum 40GPM to maximum 484 GPM, GN’s Centrifuge could meet

• High-class raw
  material and manufacturing process

1. Drum                               

1).As 1 of the core parts of centrifuge, some company adopts the
manufacturing process of sand casting or solid-solution treatment. But the drum
of GN’s centrifuge is made from S304 or duplex 2205 stainless steel by
centrifugal casting, which could guarantee the drum rotates steadily at a
higher speed and gets a longer life. 

2).The solids
discharge ports on the drum and the fluid ports on the helical pusher are
protected by special ceramic insert.

2. Helical Pusher

1).The helical
pusher of GN’s centrifuge is S304 or S316 stainless steel. By special
solid-solution treatment over 1000℃, the helical
pusher get a higher strength and longer life. 

2).Besides, as the
helical pusher is used for pushing the solids continuously when working, the
wear of the pusher will be serious if no protection. There are special Tungsten Carbide tiles or Ceramic Tiles fixed around the
edge of pusher for protection. The tiles have long life and are easily for replacement. 

• Compact Structure

1). Usually, there are
2 motors (primary motor and secondary motor) equipped with each centrifuge. Compared with the
centrifuge made by some company, GN’s centrifuge has a much more compact structure,
as the 2 motors are installed at the same end of centrifuge, which also gets a
bigger space and facility the maintenance.

2).Besides,
the secondary motor connects directly with the gear differential so that the
belts are also left out.

In this article, we mainly introduce the different types of centrifuge
that manufactured by GN Solids Control. Now we will classify the decanters
based on different features.

Treatment Capacity

Based on the treatment capacities, GN could manufacture 5 different decanters.
The capacity is from minimum 40GPM to maximum 484GPM, which could meet the
requirements from customers in different industries. The details are as below,

Centrifuge Speed

Based on the centrifuge speed, GN has 2 different choices for customer
option with each type of centrifuge.

l  Fixed Speed: the
speeds of drum and helical pusher are fixed and could not be changed by
customer;

l  Variable Speed: the
speeds of drum and helical pusher are variable and customer could chose and set
the speed according to requirement. It will be very convenient for the customer
and also helpful for improving the work efficiency.

Like the Model GNLW223 centrifuge, the speed could be 3800RPM or
0~3800RPM. 

3.     
Configuration

With each type of centrifuge, GN also has the standard configuration and high
configuration for customer option. Actually both of the 2 configuration’s
centrifuge, Here GN are committed to good quality and perfect performance. 

Compared with the centrifuge with standard configuration, the
centrifuge with high configuration will be much better on some aspects, such
as,

• Raw Material

The former drum is made from S304 stainless steel by centrifugal
casting;

The latter drum is made from Duplex 2205 stainless steel by centrifugal
casting, the ram material is better;

• Bearings

As we know, the bearings are 1 of the most important parts with
centrifuge and its quality will influence the work performance directly. DN
adopts the bearings from world famous brand for both of the 2 configurations:

The former bearings are from NSK/FAG;

The latter bearings are from SKF.
